Washington, DC

The White House
The Vietnam Wall

World War II Memorial. Reflecting Pool

Washington was interesting. Trent cried the whole way there, it was in the 80's then pouring and cold. We were lost and walking around in the heat and exhausted. Dinner never happened before 7 and we all know how we get when we're hungry!!!!

This picture is us at the zoo. Trent slept through all the cool stuff, but we saw pandas, elephants, hippos, zebras all cool stuff. This was our first day there.

This is day two. Our six plus miles of walking in 85 degree weather. But the kids did better than I expected. Did I mention the Pope was in DC at the same time as us, so were 15 different 8th grade classes. Yes, I do suck at time managment.

We also went to the Natural History Museum this day and Trent had his first caroseul ride. Yes I'm feeding him to a Hippo!

It was good to be away but I am very happy we are home.

Spring has finally arrived and it is above 60!! We went to the park today and have been outside quite a bit. We are going to DC next Thursday through Monday and I cannot wait to get away for a few days. Check Trent out here with his new teeth. The top picture is the girls helping with the St. Pattys day cupcakes! Yummy.

This was a few weeks ago but wow how cute is he. He is getting into everything, and he tried to climb Hailey's dresser this morning, at eight months! He has been standing and moving along furniture for a month now and is crazy explorer baby. He's so happy I just love it.

The other picture is from Easter at Moms house. The kids are all huge! Mom picked out the girls dresses, and they look so pretty.

Hailey wrote me a note that said I was fat and she hated me. Nice. She is mini-me, scary! She's been sucking up to me ever sense saying how pretty I am. The joys of parenthood huh. They are doing really well and Kayla just grew a few inches. Her pants were showing off her ankles so it's time to move up a size again. She is so tall for a four year old. Well, Trent is driving Kayla crazy right now and I need to go outside and play in this 66 degree weather! Bye. And Kim, can't wait to go to the Statue of Liberty with you guys! The hotel there is a little out of price range, so we'll meet up with you on that Friday.

how cute are we

This was vacation last month with fevers and stir-craziness we got creative. At least my make-up has some use!

Finally!!

Ok, how lame am I! Very busy is another way that I like to put it. So last month held lots of fevers and colds and chaos. Hopefully this month will calm down soon too. But there is some excitement in the Goins house. First, Trent got his first tooth last Thursday!!! He bit me nursing for the first time today, fun fun. He had his first mohawk that was quite cute on him. Lets see, Hailey has been tired and cranky since vacation ended and Kayla has been VERY talkative lately. Her favortie is " Pretend you said 'Wow that was really cool'' and we have to say it. It's been exhausting. And my extra exciting news, Kim you'll be so proud-the unfinished bathroom is no longer a catch basin for things that have no place, but a LAUNDRY ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And after painting it brown, and getting started on the plumbing, which Sean has done by himself, my dryer broke. So I went out and bought a new washer and dryer, because I didn't want unmatching ones if they were going to be unstairs. What do you think? I'm not sure if you can tell, but I still need molding on the window and a few other things but since this project is over 15 years past it's start I'll take what I can get. They are the prettiest appliances I have ever seen, not to mention king sized capacity yeah!!!!!!!!!

The first week in Feb was over 40 degrees!!!!

Trent went on the baby swing for the first time. We were very excited it was over 40 degrees, so we cleaned out our cars and played outside with the kids. He wasn't sure at first, but then he liked it! It's funny how Hailey didn't go on a swing till she was much older, Kayla was a little younger than Hailey and Trent is 6 months. The youngest ones get so much more excitement as babies.
Right now he has an ear infection and is not taking the medicine well at all. The girls said I should take it so he can get it in my milk. I wonder.... The other excitement we've been having is swimming! We bought a pool pass at a somewhat local hotel and have gone swimming 4 times just this week. Yesterday we were at the pool for 2 hours and I cannot believe how good Trent was. Hailey swims like a fish if she's wearing floaties, but is TERRIFIED if she isn't wearing them. Kayla, the one who was born in the water, will not attempt to swim at all. You have to hold her or she will stay on the stairs. I haven't gotten to take pictures yet, I was alone with the kids except the last time we went, but I will bring my camera next time and post some. I love the water!!!!!!! I feel like I'm on vacation every time we go, it recharges me. As I re-read this I realize how much I ramble and am very sorry. I think I need to get out more! Kurt is coming over this week and will get some grown-up time YEAH!

Hailey designed clothes for a barbie and ken wedding

This is Hailey's design for Barbie and Ken's wedding. We framed it so we could get big bucks for it some day. I got her a bratz fashion designer kit and it should be coming in a few weeks, very exciting. Her first design is hidden away but it had boots, pants and a shirt all designed by Hailey. Then she found similar clothes of hers and wore them to school the next day. She is going to rule the world I tell you. And her first day of school outfit was too cute and perfect for her personality. Mom did buy her the outfit but there were stretch pants with it, and those are not an option for my children. Even if I liked them, my girls will not wear them!

Kayla has a yucky cold and don't laugh at her!

So, Kayla does not like it when you laugh at her, even if she is being crazy and she knows it. She gets all offended and cries. The girl is a faucet. This picture was taken this morning right after she got up. Me and Hailey and Trent were looking at pictures of her posing and dressed up like a penguin. She loves the camera even though she's shy. She strikes a pose whenever possible (at home) She is the anti-me. She acts a lot like Kurt.

This is a few weeks ago when she was posing for the camera. Americas Next Top Model here she comes! Hailey's going to design the clothes and Kayla is going to model them. How cute is that. I know it's sideways but I haven't mastered the art of this process yet.
